Listen and hear my voice; pay attention and hear what I say.
Boy did I get in trouble… I heard the Holy Spirit and out of fear didn’t listen. God told me some time ago that He wanted me to lay hands on people, but specifically said, “Only when I tell you.” There I was in the middle of worship at my church. The pastor stopped the music and had everyone pray to usher in the anointing for what seemed like 30 minutes. Suddenly I heard the Holy Spirit say, “go ever there and lay hands on your friend.” I heard him clearly but in awkwardly froze in my position. He persistently said it three times and I started to make excuses like, “Worship is about to end,” and “what if she doesn’t want me to lay hands on her.” That’s when I saw my husband reach for her hand and begin to pray. “I messed up!” I said to myself and quickly walked over to join. The Holy Spirit moved like never before and we knew that’s what she needed at that moment. However, upon returning to my chair, crying and still complexly filled with the Holy Spirit, I calmly heard God say, “When I tell you to do something, do it or I will use someone else.”
Isaiah 28:23 says, “Listen and hear my voice; pay attention and hear what I say.” God wants to give us power to do His work but if we do not pay attention to His promptings, he will eventually use someone else to reach the hurting people in the world. Most times we tend to think it is our concise speaking so we do not listen out of fear of mistakes or doing something God has not told us to do. But the more we read the word and fill our lives up with the anointing, the more we will hear his promptings and know it is Him speaking to us.
Are you listening to what God needs you to do? Simply ask Him to allow you to hear His voice and fill your mind and heart with His word. The time has come where God is going to do the supernatural thru His children and all He wants you to do is listen for His voice, pay attention and move on His behalf. It is a wonderful experience.
